Classroom Rules

-Be on time.  A tardy will be issued if you are late.  If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the assignment that you missed.

Our classroom philosophy:  No one has the right to interfere with the learning, safety and well being of others.  If you cause a problem, I will ask you to fix it.  If you cannot fix the problem or choose not to, I will help you.  Try your hardest, and do your best.  We can do hard things.

-Be prepared.  Bring your supplies and assignments to class each day.  Most assignments will be done online, but make sure you have a writing utensil for days they are not.

Phone Policy

Phones will be placed in the designated area during class.  I will let students know if and when they are allowed to be used during independent work time.  If phones are out during instructional time, they will be sent to the office and dealt with according to the student code of conduct.

Grading Policy

Tests: 50%

Homework & Daily Work: 50%

***Students are expected to test on one novel per six weeks.  We will have a library day every other week, but students will need to read outside of school, as well.  This will be a test grade.***

SWIM Camp

Satisfactory Work Is Mandatory.

Held – Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30 and ending when the student completes the work successfully. If the assignment is turned in by the first bell on the day of SWIM camp, the student does not have to attend swim camp that day. Failure to show up to swim camp will result in ISS (in school suspension).

Assigned – when work is not completed or is unsatisfactory. You will be assigned the next available day of SWIM Camp, and you may be given a similar assignment, of the same content, to replace the unsatisfactory work. An automated phone call will notify your guardian prior to the day you are assigned.

Grading

  • Minus 5 points if it is turned in by 8:00 am of the assigned SWIM Camp day.

  • Minus 10 if you complete it during SWIM Camp and you may leave once it is turned in.

  • Minus 15 if you finish it in ISS.

Tutorial Hours
