Welcome to 7th grade science. I’m your teacher, Mrs. Evans. This year in science
the focus will primarily be life science. We will study the flow of energy through
living things, organisms and the environment, structure and function of cells,
structure and function of living systems, chemical and energy changes in
digestion, homeostasis, genetics, variations and adaptations. We will also review
lab safety, forces and motion, the solar system, and factors impacting Earth systems.
We will use several methods of learning/teaching this year. We will try to do as
many lab activities as we can. We will have group discussions, hands-on
activities, team work, book work and some lecture time.
Class attendance is of the utmost importance! I can’t teach you, and you can’t
learn if you are not in the classroom. If you miss class, please see me about
necessary make-up assignments. You have 3 days to turn in required make-up work.
You will also need to get any class notes or
vocabulary words and definitions from a classmate. This is your responsibility.
Your 8th period class is the last period of the day and all 7th graders will do IXL work.
Conduct grades will be given every 6 weeks.
E=Excellent S=Satisfactory N=Needs Improvement =Unsatisfactory
Please consider using your leftover school supplies from previous years. We don’t
do a lot of cutting and pasting, but we do some. For example your first grade
safety scissors will work just fine! LOL
I am looking forward to a great year in 7 th grade!
